Why Did Billie Eilish Skip The 2022 Mtv Vmas?

On her most recent appearance on the red carpet this year, Happier Than Ever singer Billie Eilish kept fans waiting longer for her next event, choosing not to participate in tonight’s MTV VMAS. Eilish was nominated for several awards on the show, including album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Feature Video and Best Pop Video.

Eilish remained silent on social media today. However, it is understandable that she chose not to go to the ceremony in Newark, New Jersey, as she performed in Tokyo on Friday for her Happier Than Ever world tour, september 8 has her next tour date in New Zealand. Flying back to New York City for a day, then back to the other side of the world, is a big trip for an awards show.

In a recent interview, Eilish talked about how it feels more down-to-earth to be an A-list star these days.

In an interview published on August 26th, “I guess I would say it took me a while,” she told the Australian star when asked how she kept herself grounded among the stars. “In fact, I feel like I haven’t Down to Earth in years, which I think is a good thing in a way because it makes me feel very confident and happy about my life. But at the same time, looking back, I must have been a bit cocky. I’ve made a serious, complete 180-degree turn.”

She added: “I’m really lucky to be able to do what I do. I don’t think I’m better than anyone at all. It’s nice to just do the art that I like.”
